It was good times, fried fish, pageants, arenacross and more this Saturday in Xenia, where the annual Xenia Volunteer Fire Department Fish Fry event was held.


The event raises money for the volunteer fire department, enabling them to have more discretionary funding, as well as money to be able to upgrade some of their essentials.


There were two pageants held as part of the event, the Little Miss and Mr. pageant and the Junior Miss Xenia Fish Fry pageant.

There were two pageants held as part of the event, the Little Miss and Mr. pageant and the Junior Miss Xenia Fish Fry pageant.

The Junior Miss Pageant was held in front of City Hall at 5 p.m. The title of Junior Miss was awarded to Makayla Shroer.

Her first runner up was Alexis Shock and second runner-up was Skylar Freeman. Shock also received Miss Congeniality and best First Impression, while Freeman was awarded Most Photogenic. Lauren Edwards won the award for Best interview.

The Little Miss Pageant winner was Ivy Hibbetts. Her second runner-up was Jadyn Lewis and Kamryn Walker was the first runner-up.

The Little Mr. Winner was Gavin Williams. The first runner-up was Liam O'Donnell and the second runner-up was Draven Perry.

The Fish Fry also featured arenacross races from midday through the afternoon. There was a cakewalk in the evening, as well as a street dance.

There were crafts for sale and a flea market. All day, there was a silent auction. This year, there was also an expanded beer garden. There was a car show put on by the Clay County Cruisers that ended at 5 p.m.

The evening ended with a street dance.
