Well here I am writing your news again on May 23rd. I am still writing about the weather, rain and thunderstorms again today. I am praying that it will stop soon so the farmers can get in the fields and do some planting soon. I think a few fields have done some planting, but not very many. I am not complaining because we are so lucky, no tornadoes. Poor Joplin, Missouri almost got destroyed over this past weekend.
Caleb McKnelly won the WNOI birthday cake and balloon last Wednesday on May 18th. Hope you had a great birthday.
Betty Garrison and Gladys Jones went out to lunch last Friday. In the afternoon they visited with Maxine Jones and Matilda Payne.
Joni and Jordon Picklesimer of Wilsonville, Ill. came for the weekend to celebrate Jordon’s 9th birthday with her granny Cindy Stanford.
On Saturday Kim and Cole Blair of Edgewood came to help celebrate, Tanya Brune came by later after Sophie’s softball game in Centralia. Great Aunt Eileen Krutsinger came by on Sunday before everybody went home.
Julianna Mason is in critical condition at the Flora Garden’s Nursing Home. She needs our prayers.
Sparton retirees enjoying visiting and lunch on Tuesday, May 17 at the Pizza Hut were Lucy Davis, Pat Hill, Lena Klanke, John Klanke, Alexis Reddish, Bill Reddish, Joann O’Dell, Barbara Phillips, Joyce Benskin, Deanna Lynch, and Gladys Jones. There has certainly been lots of death lately. I will mention a few of them, I want to send my sympathy to the Kenneth Dickey family, to the Linda McKnelly family, to the Ann Blades family and all the other families losing loved ones in our community. I’m sorry for any I might have missed.
Pray for all the sick, service men and women, nursing home patients, those traveling and all the tornadoes victims in Joplin, Missouri and those losing family members and the farmers. Pray it will stop raining so the can get in the fields soon.
