The Clay County Hospital Auxiliary hosted a book fair at the Hospital Conference Rooms on the afternoon of Friday, April 6.
The conference rooms next to the CCH Cafeteria were full of book display shelves and tables with numerous assorted books and reading related gifts.
The Book Fair was put on by the company Books Are Fun, who travel to different instistutions to hold book fairs and sales.
Representatives of Books are Fun said that the fair was set up and staffed completely by their company, but that the Auxiliary “still gets a nice percentage of anything we sell.
The Clay County Hospital Auxiliary was founded in 1949 and has been working to better the hospital and patients’ hospital experience ever since.
The Hospital Auxiliary members can be distinguished by their pink jackets and service ribbons.
The Auxiliary is responsible for numerous gifts given to the hospital over the years and thousands of yearly hours of volunteer work.
Both the Hospital Help Desk and the Hospital Gift Store are staffed by volunteers from the CCH Auxiliary, who donate their time.
The Auxiliary also provides a yearly scholarship for area high school seniors for $500.
