Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has appointed two Flora men, Charlie Crowder and Larry Kramer, to the Southeastern Illinois Economic Development Authority (SIEDA).
Crowder is the former Mayor of Flora and is president of Crowder and Associates, Inc.. Larry Kramer is a former Flora Bank President and is a real estate associate with Herring and Associates Realtors.
SIEDA is under the leadership of Andrew Hamilton in Mt. Vernon and consists of 27 members from 16 southeastern Illinois counties.
The Authority promotes industrial, commercial, and residential development, services, transportation, and recreational activities and facilities in Fayette, Cumberland, Clark, Effingham, Jasper, Crawford, Marion, Clay, Richland, Lawrence, Jefferson, Wayne, Edwards, Wabash, Hamilton, and White counties and any navigable waters and air space located therein. They are authorized to issue bonds, ant to enter into loans, contracts, agreements, and mortgages.
