North Clay Community Board of Education met Thursday July 12th for their regular monthly meeting. Breakfast and lunch prices were set, a few financial and personnel actions were taken, field trips were discussed, and a day of prayer was set.
Some big changes to registration for all students were also made. An announcement printed on page 5 of today’s Advocate-Press details everything parents need to know.
DAY OF PRAYER
Jeff Hembree addressed the Board about a district prayer meeting. The School Board unanimously approved August 5th, 2012 as the day for prayer by the community for the entire school district. Mr. Hembree will announce a detailed plan for the day very soon.
BREAFAST AND LUNCH PRICES
The Board approved (5-0) a 10 cent increase in breakfast and lunch prices for the new school year. Schools will again offer reduced pre-paid lunch discounts. During registration parents can get the 20% pre-paid discount for the entire year.
Milk and bread bids were awarded as well. Prairie Farms got the bid to supply milk to the North Clay Schools. IBC Sales Corporation got the bread bid. Both were the only two bids for the milk and bread respectively.
The Board also unanimously approved to close Sportsboosters. All remaining funds will go into the North Clay Academic Foundation. The board members deeply thanked Dennis Grahn for organizing the club for years.
In personnel actions the resignations were accepted for Lanie Barbee as Paraprofessional, Angie Stanfield as Jr. High Girls Head Basketball Coach, and Alyssa Nelson as elementary teacher, all effective immediately.
