Allstate opens new office in Flora

Allstate opened their new office on West North Avenue in Flora on March 1 with Agency Owner Ryan Pottorff and Associate Larry Kramer.
They are now open and ready for business.
The Flora agency is located at 829 W. North Avenue in Flora. Business hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM on Thursday; and from 9:00 AM to Noon on Saturday. Customer service is available 24/7 by calling the Flora office at (618) 662-3300.
Pottorff grew up in Flora and attended school here. He graduated from Flora High School in 1997. He worked several years in community banking for 10 years and sold benefits with American Fidelity where he became familiar with the "insurance side".
He was recently recruited by Allstate to open an office in Clay County.
Pottorff and his wife, Julie, have two daughters, Rylie, two-and-a-half, and Aliyah, one-year.
He received a degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University--Carbondale.

Allstate employee Larry R. Kramer is also not a stranger to this area. Most recently he served as Chief Executive Officer of Flora Bank and Trust for 25 years, retiring in 2004. He managed other banks prior to coming here in 1977.
He also served with the Comptroller of the Currency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a bank examiner for five years.
Kramer has been active in community service and has assisted in the promotion of projects to improve the area through downtown development and the B&O Railroad Depot. He has served on the Flora Industrial Commission and many other community activities. He continues to serve the community.
Kramer and his wire, Mary Sue, was a Special Education Teacher in the Flora Unit 35 School District for many years and is still active in the community. They are the parents of three children and have six grandchildren.
Kramer is also licensed as a real estate broker with Herring and Associates and will continue with that activity on a part time basis.
