McEndree Elementary third graders raise more than $2,000 for American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart/Hoops for Heart

This February, during Heart Month, three third grade classes at McEndree Elementary School in Flora raised $2,974.50 for the American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart.
Owen Ayers was the top money winner with $200; Sophie Guerrattaz raised $175; and Ava Cammon raised $150.
The school will receive $100 to purchase equipment for the physical education classes at the school.
Physical Education instructor, Sharla Todd, has been conducting the fundraiser for more than 25 years and participates to honor her father and grandfather who died of heart diseases. Hoops for Heart was added to the fundraiser because there were some boys and girls who did not want to jump rope but still wanted to earn money for the cause.
