  • Waltonville - The Noble-Clay City Wildcats and Lady Wildcats split games with Waltonville on Thursday, April 24th as the Wildcats suffered a defeat by the score of 4 - 1 and the Lady Wildcats taking home a win by the score of 10 - 5.
    The Noble-Clay City Wildcats bats were silent against Waltonville as the scored one run, one hit for the day. The lone run scored by the Wildcats was when Mason Armstrong crossed the plate in the top of the second inning making the score 1 - 0 in favor of the Wildcats. However, in the bottom of the second inning Waltonville scored two runs off two hits to take the lead.
    The winning pitcher for Waltonville was Vanway with Jon Ausbrook taking the loss for the Wildcats.
    From the top of the third through the top of the sixth inning the Noble-Clay City batters went in three-up, three-down fashion. Waltonville scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning giving them a 4 - 1 lead which would be the final score.  The lone hit for the Wildcats came in the top of the first, when Collin Klingler singled up the middle.
    The Noble-Clay City Wildcats are now 3 - 9 overall for the season with their next game will be Tuesday, April 29th when they travel to Webber, then on the road again on Wednesday, April 30th when they travel to Red Hill.
    Noble-Clay City Lady Wildcats:
    The Noble-Clay City Lady Wildcats defeated Waltonville by the score of 10 - 5. The Lady Wildcats scored 10 runs on nine hits in 27 at bats.
    The Lady Wildcats scored three runs in the top of the first inning, two runs in the second, two runs in the fourth and three runs in the seventh.

    Dani Hawkins 2-for-4, single, double, run scored; Hannah Dulaney 2-for-4, run scored; Megan Hance 1-for-3, two runs scored; Mariah Bennett 1-for-3, run scored; Amber Drewes 1-for-2, run scored; Darcie Hawkins 2-for-4; Macy Lenear two runs scored; Sarah Weiler two runs scored.
    The Noble-Clay City Lady Wildcats are now 10 - 5 overall on the season with their next games being on the road, Tuesday, April 29th at Lawrenceville and Wednesday, April 30th at Red Hill. Game time first pitch is scheduled at 4:15 p.m.
