Flora Wolves and Wolfgals Win at Red Hill
Bridgeport (Red Hill) - The Flora Wolves and Wolfgals traveled to Red Hill on Monday, May 12th with both team coming away with a win.
The Flora Wolves defeated the Salukis by the score of 15 - 3 in seven innings and the Wolfgals defeated the Lady Salukis by the score of 13 - 1 in five innings.
The Red Hill Salukis jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the second inning scoring three runs. The Wolves plated three runs in the top of the third to tie the score at 3 - 3, when Rase Collins and Bryce Pearce scored off a Blake Fitch double to centerfield and Blake Fitch scored off a Tristan Litaker single to left field.
The fourth inning was scoreless for both teams, but the Wolves came alive in the fifth scoring four runs, the sixth scoring three runs and the top of the seventh scoring five runs. The four runs in the top of the fifth inning came on a Jeremiah Allison two-run double and a two-run shot over the left field fence by Luke Durre.
The Wolves not only had a big day at the plate, but also on the hill as well. The Wolves used three pitchers on the day with Zach Allison getting the win throwing three innings allowing three runs (1-ER) off four hits, walking two, striking-out four, throwing a total of 71 pitches, 39 of those being strikes. Trey Thompson threw 2.1 innings allowing 0-runs, one hit, walked three, struck out two, throwing a total of 40 pitches, 22 of those being strikes. Luke Durre came in for the Wolves to finish out the game pitching 1.2 innings and allowed 0-runs, 0-hits, 0-ER, walked one and struck out three, throwing a total of 38 pitches, 24 of those being strikes. Taking the loss for the Salukis was Jacob Wirth throwing five innings, giving up seven runs off 11 hits, (7-ER), walked two, struck out seven and allowed one home-run.

The Flora Wolves are 15 - 15 overall on the season and 7 - 3 in the LIC. Their next game, weather permitting, will be Friday, May 16th when the Cumberland Pirates come to Mike Jennings Field on Senior Day. Game time first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
The Wolfgals put another "W" in the win column as they defeated the Lady Salukis 13 - 1 in five innings of play.
Flora scored one run in the top of the first inning to take the lead. However, the Lady Salukis came back and scored two runs taking the lead 2 - 1 after one inning of play.
The Wolfgals dug down and was tough with their defense and pitching from Meg Hout, by not allowing the Lady Salukis to score until the bottom of the fifth inning and then only one run was scored, to secure the win for the Wolfgals by the score of 13 - 3.
Flora Wolfgals bats came alive as they scored two runs in the second, three runs in the third, two runs in the fourth and five runs in the fifth. Two of those 12 runs came off a two-run Home-Run by Crimson Jones.
The winning pitcher for the Wolfgals was Meg Hout pitching five innings, allowing three runs (1-ER), off five hits, walked three and struck out two Salukis batters. Taking the loss for Red Hill was Moan.
