Flora Businessman John Buckley passed away Sunday evening at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

Buckley was in the insurance business for 31 years.  He was an agent with the Botoroff Insurance Agency in Flora.  He then partnered with Tom Shelby to form the Buckley-Shelby Insurance Agency before it became Buckley Insurance.

Buckley also served as president of US Bank and most recently was a Loss Control Specialist for Sandner Group.

Buckley was also a member of the Flora Volunteer Fire Department, joining in 1976 and was a First Responder.

Buckley and his wife, Vickie, were avid supporters of the Flora Wolves as the couple attended more games than they could count.  He was also an avid golfer.

John is survived by his wife, five children and six grandchildren with one arriving soon.
