TRUMP CONTINUES TO RALLY SUPPORT FOR HEALTH CARE OVERHAUL

After making changes late Monday and telling House Republicans there could be political costs if they don't vote for the bill Tuesday, President Donald Trump will be looking to shore up support for his health care overhaul Wednesday.

After a day of cajoling votes, a senior administration official said the White House is trying to persuade about 20 to 25 House Republicans who are either opposed or undecided.

House leaders and Trump can only afford to lose 21 votes to get the bill through to the Senate, where it is no guarantee 51 votes exist to make the bill law.

A House vote on the bill is expected Thursday.

STURGEON WANTS REFERENDUM ON SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE

LONDON ? First Minister Nicola Sturgeon asked the Edinburgh-based Scottish parliament on Tuesday to back her demand for a referendum on independence within two years.

Scottish voters rejected independence in a 2014 referendum that was billed as a once-in-a-generation vote. But Sturgeon says Brexit has changed the situation dramatically. A vote on whether to back a referendum is expected Wednesday.

GORSUCH CONTINUES HIS INTERVIEW

After a day of questions Tuesday in which Democrats attempted to get Neil Gorsuch to reveal his feelings on abortion, gun rights and other politically divise topics, the Supreme Court nominee likely will face similar queries today.

Confimation hearings will continue in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. After receiving 30 minutes each to grill the nominee Tuesday, each senator on the committee will receive 20 minutes for a second round of questions Wednesday.

WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME TONIGHT

It all comes to an end Wednesday as the World Baseball Classic wraps up with its championship game in Los Angeles.

First pitch is scheduled for 9 p.m. Eastern. The game will be televised on MLB Network.
