Sheriff James Sulsberger released the following:
February 2, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Brandon S. Giddens, 18, Xenia, for Violation of Order of Protection. Giddens appeared in Clay County Court Friday, Feb. 3, bond was set at $10,000.00. Giddens posted $1,000.00 cash and was released.
February 3, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Jessica E. Gay, 26, Olney, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original
charge of Criminal Damage to Property. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10%) and $75.00 cash warrant fee. Gay is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
February 3, Bobby L. Powell, 19, Texico, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond set at $2,500.00 (10%) and $75.00 cash for warrant fee. Powell is being held in the Wayne County Jail pending charges there.
February 4, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at approximately 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Church Street and
Broadway Street in Louisville. Apparently a 1996 Chevrolet operated by Mark E. Mason, 56, Louisville, was travelling east on Broadway Street and had
stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Church Street. Mason then proceeded into the intersection and due to the foggy conditions struck a southbound 2002 Oldsmobile operated by Cora Boyd, 76, Louisville. No citations issued, no injuries reported.
February 5, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Joshua A. Czyzewski, 23, Louisville for No Valid Registration, Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle and
Too Fast for Conditions. Czyzewski posted his valid Illinois Driver’s License as bond and was released.
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
