Arthur Robert “Heartthrob” Erwin, 78, of Xenia, passed away at 1:40 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the Friendship House of Centralia, in Centralia, Ill.

Arthur was born on May 28, 1931, in Louisville, to Opal and Stella “Landreth” Erwin; both of whom preceded him in death. Arthur was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars and was highly decorated through his military career. Arthur was a U.S. Navy Commander; after retirement, he worked as a manager and driver of the Clydesdale Operation of Budweiser-Busch of Hawaii.  He was married in Hawaii in 1998 to Dena Mosk Erwin; she survives. Arthur was a member of the Woodlawn Congregational Church of Iuka and was a 4-H leader in Hawaii.

Arthur is survived by his current wife, Dena Mosk Erwin; his second wife, Elizabeth Kauhane of Hawaii; his daughter, Pamela Erwin-Tijerina and husband John “TJ” of Memphis, Tenn.; and by his step-grandchild, Steven Mosk of San Diego, Calif.

Preceding Arthur in death were his parents, his brother, Opal “Bud” Erwin; and his sister, Betty Allen.

Funeral services for Arthur Robert “Heartthrob” Erwin are planned for 12:30 p.m., on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. A visitation will be held at the same location, on the same day from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion. Interment will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fur a Good Paws Pet Assistance League of Clay County.
