Marine Cpl. Jamie Russell Lowe, 21, of Johnsonville, IL was killed in action in the war in Afghanistan Monday, January 11, 2010.
Jamie was born November 15, 1988 at Fairfield, to Kevin L. and Teresa (Solomon) Lowe.
Jamie was a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps 3rd Recon with the Unit in Okinawa in Afghanistan. He was a 2007 graduate of Cisne High School; attended Orchardville Community Church and a member of Young Marines in Mount Vernon.
Jamie is survived by his parents Kevin and Teresa Lowe of Johnsonville; two brothers Cody and Hunter Lowe at home; grandparents - Shirley Lowe of Rinard, and Russel and Linda Legg of Fairfield; great grandparents Philip and Wilma Lowe of Rinard, and Elsie Ray of Cisne. Also surviving are three aunts Cristy and Brian McKinney of Fairfield; Kim and Shannon Hosick of Cisne; and Tammy and Trent Flexter of Oblong; several great uncles, great aunts and cousins.
Preceding Jamie in death were his grandfathers Perry Lowe and James Verdell Solomon.
Funeral services for Cpl. Jamie Lowe will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Orchardville Community Church, Orchardville. Pastor Mark Shell will officiate. Burial will be in Round Prairie Cemetery near Johnsonville. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Orchardville Community Church.
Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the church or the funeral home.
