Opal Mae Kraus, 96, of Mattoon, formerly of Louisville, passed away at 10:22 p.m., on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Mattoon Healthcare of Mattoon, Ill.
Opal was born on August 12, 1913, in Louisville, Ill., to Robert Allen and Carrie Mae “Adams” Colclasure. Opal was married to Edward Kraus. Opal worked as a hair stylist. She was a member of the Christian Faith.
Opal is survived by her son, Charles Kraus and wife Nancy of Show Low, Ariz., two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Preceding Opal in death were her parents, her husband; her brother, Everett Colclasure; and her sisters, Beatrice Colman, Arlene “Colclasure” Sherwood and Leone Colclasure.
Funeral services for Opal Mae Kraus are to be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. A visitation will be held at the same location from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be at Oskaloosa Cemetery in rural Xenia. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
