Gary J. States, 55, of Geff, passed away at 5:50 p.m., Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, Fairfield.

Gary was born September 16, 1954 in Fairfield to Charles F. and Fawn A. (Mills) States.  He married Melinda Frank on January 10, 1981 in Cisne.  Gary had been a Real Estate Appraiser for Farm Credit Services for 25 years, and a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church in Geff.
Gary is survived by his wife, Melinda States of Geff; one daughter, Lian States of Geff; his mother, Fawn States of Fairfield; brothers, Bill States, and wife Lodema, of Hillsboro, Ill., and Rick States, and wife Linda, of Cisne; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services for Gary J. States will be conducted Thursday January 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, Illniois. Burial will be at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery Geff.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne.

Memorials may be made to the Illinois 4-H Foundation.
