Ted B. Mitchell, 99, of Flora, passed away Tuesday June 23 at 4:40 a.m. at Clay County Hospital.
Ted was born on November 2, 1909 in Louisville to Boman and Etta (Bible) Mitchell. On August 27, 1934, he was married in Waterloo to Helen Henderson; she preceded him in death on December 11, 1990.
Ted was a truck driver for Dow Chemical for 36 years. He was of the Methodist Faith and was a member of Flora Masonic Lodge number 204.
Surviving Ted is his step-son, Jack Henderson of Lafayette, La.; his step-daughter, Mary Morris of Indianapolis; his sister, Aline Headlee of Louisville and his brother Arkell Mitchell and wife Florence of Seattle. He is also survived by several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ted in death were his parents, his wife, his sisters Lucille Mann and infant Pauline Mitchell and his infant brother Louis Edmond Mitchell.
Private funeral services will be held for Ted Mitchell; Frank and Bright Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Interment will be at Floral Garden of Memories in Flora. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. An online guestbook is available at www.frankandbright.com
