James R. Cain, 80, of Flora, passed away on Tuesday at 6:45 a.m. at his home.

James was born on February 11, 1929 in Salem to Paul M. and Bernice (Wilson) Cain. On February 5, 1950, he was married to Marilyn S. Stanford. James was a member of the First Christian Church of Arlington Heights. James was a graduate of the University of Illinois where he was a member of the TKE fraternity. In Flora, he was a member of the Elks and NMN Club. James worked as an accountant and controller for General Motors, Borg Werner and York Fedders.

James is survived by his wife Marilyn Cain of Flora; his children, Richard S. Cain and wife Pearl of Locust Grove, Okla., Jeffrey A. Cain of Arlington Heights, David A. Cain of Ferndale, Mich., Elise Slater of Waterford, Mich., Harold Cain of Cape Coral, Fla., seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

James’ parents preceded him in death.

Services for James will be Saturday, July 4, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Dr. Don Bunnell officiating. There will be a visitation begin at 10 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Flora.

Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Flora.
