Dear Editor

I would like to publicly thank Ray Rutland for the kindness he showed me and many others, this past week, when he removed snow from driveways and walkways. He was at my home around 2:30 p.m. He said he had started at 8 a.m. that same day and had about three more stops to make.

He wouldn’t accept any payment, just a promise of fresh tomatoes next summer.

He told me that Bobby Briscoe was doing the same thing for many of his friends and he should also be recognized and complemented for his efforts. Those large tractors are expensive to operate and this work was all done from the goodness of their hearts.

This is one of the attributes of living in a small town where everyone willingly helps their neighbors and friends.

I am sure there are others that did these same good deeds and “Hats Off” to all of those good
Samaritans.
