A little rain and cooler weather made things a little better. It’s better for gardens that are still producing. The tomatoes won‘t last much longer. The green beans are again blooming on a few plants that the rabbits didn’t ruin. The bell peppers are beginning to look beeter and the cucumbers and ‘Christmas’ butter beans are doing okay, since it rained a little and turned cooler. Next week the butter beans will need to be taken care of. Becky Lewis and Melody McMillan have been catching up on work that Becky needed to get done. Becky has been on one week of vacation.
On Friday the girls and I drove to Southern Illinois to Garden of the Gods, Cave In Rock and other places in the south. We took our picinic lunch and ate at Cave In Rock. We enjopyed watching the big barges going down the river and the ferry taking vehicles across the river several times before we left and drove west through Elizabethtown, Vienna and north to Marion, West Frankfort, Benton, Mount Vernon, Salem and then back to Bible Grove. It was a nice trip on a nice day.
At Cave In Rock a young couple were celebrating their anniversary. The young husband was formerly of Louisville. His grandparents are the Bob Bibles. I had a good visit with the couple. School has begun so drive carefully when the buses are in sight on the roads and near the schools. Many names are on the church pray list. If some listed are doing okay, check with them so maybe they can be taken off the list.
Many in our area are in need of prayers that are not listed. May the Lord take care of them and their families. Trust in the Lord and blessings you’ll receive.
