Good morning to all my readers both near and far. Hope you are all having a good day today. Today is Aug. 24, this month is nearly gone, only seven days left. Time really flies when you get old. My mother used to tell that and I did not believe her, but I sure do now. Ha–ha.
Happy belated birthday to Bobbie Briscoe, who won the WNOI Birthday cake and balloons on Monday. Hope you had a great birthday and many more to follow.
School is in session again so watch for the big yellow school bus and drive cautiously. Watch for the children riding their bicycles as they may not watch for you. Drive carefully.
Sparton retirees met Tuesday at Duke’s for lunch and visiting. Those attending were Diane Hemphill, Deanna Lynch, Ruby Davis, Lucy Davis, Joyce Benskin, Lena Klanke, Belle Klanke, Jane Holcomb, Jo Ann O’Dell, Betty Yates, Matilda Payne, Ilene Kinnaman, Barbara Phillips, Betty Garrison, Maxine Jones and Gladys Jones. Get well cards were sent to two members who are sick. Next meeting will be Sept. 15.
Maxine Jones and Gladys Jones visited Friday afternoon with Lois Koehler.
Betty and Diana Pemberton visited Saturday in Evansville, Ind. With her son and Diane’s brother, Lowell Pemberton. He is slowly improving so keep him in your prayers.
I visited with some of my friends at Heritage Woods on Saturday afternoon. Visited with Edna Sefton, Mildred Griffy, Fern Barbee and Leah Hart for a short time.
Mary Schnell is not doing very well at this time and needs our prayers. Remember her with cards and prayers. Her address is 708 South Main.
Betty and Diane Pemberton and Earl and Marcie Pemberton, of Brownstown, attended the Porter Reunion on Aug. 16. It took place at Red Brush Church, north of Louisville.
Doris Hill spent two days recently in Bloomington, Ill. Where she attended the Officers Fall Board Meeting and Banquet.
Betty Garrison and Jackie Slover visited in DuQuion with their friends, La Jean and Jim Erwin and family on Sunday afternoon.
