'The Big Three' in a very successful 2009-2010 season in boy's basketball for North Clay were seniors Colton Bailey and Micah Schnautz, and junior Andrew Grahn.
The efforts of the Cardinal trio led to an 18-6 overall record, an 8-2 mark in the Midland Trail Conference, leading to a second-place finish in the MTC, a runner-up finish in the MTC Tournament, and a runner-up finish in the South Central Regional.
That effort didn't go unnoticed by the coaches of the Midland Trail Conference, who voted Bailey, a 5-foot-9 point guard, and Grahn, a 6-foot-3 guard/forward to the first team of the MTC's 2009-2010 all-conference squad.
Schnautz, a 6-foot-5 center, earned an honorable mention nod on this season's MTC all-star squad.
Also garnering an honorable mention All-MTC selection was Alex Bayler, a 5-foot-10 senior point-guard from Clay City High School.
Coach of the Year in the MTC was Shawn Witzel, of Woodlawn, while Woodlawn's Dawson Verhines was Player of the Year in the conference.
Making up the rest of the first-team were - Tyler Parrish, Odin; Hayden Byars, Cisne; Casey Hammond Woodlawn; Ronnie Hyder, Cisne; Zach Merritt, Wayne City; Josh Wiggs, Woodlawn; Ryan Cluck, Odin; Cody Thomason and Trevor Shreve, Wayne City.
Honorable Mention - Tyson Minor, Odin; Trevor Gore, Sandoval; Tyler Gillett, South Central; and Kirk Dunbar, Woodlawn.
