Serve, Set, Spike.  These terms are very familiar to the FHS Volleyball seniors who will be recognized Tuesday night at their last home volleyball game.

Senior players being honored are Katherine Deaton, Hannah Knapp, Kendal McGrew, Jessie Scara and Melanie Shehorn.

As with the volley, some sports have had their individual senior nights.  Friday October 23, at the Edwards County home football game, will be the time to recognize all fall sports seniors: football, volleyball, tennis, golf, cheerleading and band.

Students this Friday have an early dismissal at 2 p.m. which helps soften the blow of grades going home.  Ready or not, first quarter is over.

JILG has been busy with two speakers this past week.  Teen Reach came in and spoke to teens about becoming leaders and described what the TRC organization is about, which might include playing games with the kids as well as being a good role model for them.  A representative from Hickey College spoke to the students as well and helped them better understand each other’s personalities as well as their own.  The students took a personality test and determined whether they were introverted or extroverted, sensory or intuitive, thinkers or feelers and judgers or perceivers.  They then learned what careers might be good fit with their personality traits.
Drama Club had a party this past Thursday and voted for the upcoming Spring Musical “Lookout Olympus”.  This musical comedy has a mythology background and characters of gods and goddesses, as well as nymphs.  Togas anyone?

The Flora Band will be performing at the Louisville Fall Festival and the Flora Halloween Parade.  Keep in mind the GAB Haunted House these upcoming Halloween weekends, either as a helper to haunt or a victim to be haunted.
Quote of the week comes from Arthur Conan Doyle, Sr. who said, “Where there is no imagination there is no horror.”
