A game that has lasted for generations and produced some of the greatest athletes in the world is being taught right here at home.
Since the beginning of June, young tennis players have gathered at Kayo Powless Tennis Courts every Monday and Tuesday morning to learn the proper game from long time Flora High School tennis coach Jerry Stringer and tennis enthusiast Dave Billingsley.
Both men, along with a number of instructors, have been teaching young players everything from the basics to more advanced shots.
Players from grades three through five have been the earliest campers to learn what a forehand and backhand is and when to use it while on the tennis courts.
Camp Instructors include Trent Henry, John Schroeder, Andrew Conley, Whitney Luttrell, Paige Tungate, Alison Tungate, and Alysa Henson.
The camp runs through next Tuesday, July 7, when the camp will come to a finally.
