The Flora summer recreation program has turned America’s pastime into a great opportunity for young players.
Flora’s first annual baseball camp was held this week at the baseball fields at the south edge of town.
Campers were informed on the proper fundamentals and techniques of baseall.
Players from age eight through age 14 were put through drills teaching the proper way to catch a fly ball and how to field a groundball, to the proper pitching and hitting techniques.
Also, campers were taught the baserunning rules by instructors from both Flora and North Clay High School baseball programs.
The camp proceeds went to the summer baseball programs in Flora.
