"Under the law, deadly force is justified to stop a sexual assault. All the evidence presented by the sheriff's department and the Texas Rangers indicated that was in fact what was occurring when the victim's father arrived at the scene." - Lavaca County (Texas) District Attorney Heather McMinn, talking after a decision was made not to charge the father who beat a man to death for sexually assaulting the dad’s 5-year-old daughter. Calls to 911 also revealed the father didn’t mean to kill the attacker.
