MACOMB — Macomb City Council Committee of the Whole will discuss a proposal by the Flags of Love committee, proposed street projects and property purchases when it meets on Monday.
According to the agenda for Monday’s 5 p.m. meeting, Flags of Love Chairman Mike Fitch will explain a proposal to place memorial bricks around the fountain in Chandler Park in light of the ongoing issues concerning age and wear of the flags and the ability to muster a corps of volunteers. There will also be an outline of proposed street projects with available funds for FY2017 and FY2018. Among the considerations are a portion of Randolph Street and road surfaces in Hidden Hills.
In an item recently brought to attention through the city’s zoning board, there will be discussion on the ordinance to issue a special use permit for a legally non-conforming use by Dad’s Garage at 539 N. Lafayette St.
The permit would address the scope of work being done at the auto shop, as well as an issue regarding the number of vehicles on the property.
There is also further discussion involving the new proposed contract with Spring Lake Management, which recently passed through the city’s Park and Pool committee.
The committee will also discuss the purchase of 133 W. Jackson St. (Modern Home) and a lot on East Carroll Street.
The committee meets on the second floor of Macomb City Hall.
