LEWISTOWN—The 2018 Lewistown Christmas Parade, “It’s a Charlie Brown Christmas,” will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1.
The parade is sponsored by the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce and CAN12 Co. Anyone interested in being a parade sponsor may donate by contacting either the Lewistown Chamber of Commerce, 309-547-4300, or Becky at CAN12 Co., 309-547-2501. Prize monies for placement in the parade and the Christmas tree contest will be determined by the amount of sponsorship donations received.
The parade will start at the intersection of Main Street and Sycamore Drive at 5 p.m. and then proceed north on Main Street
to the Courthouse, turning left onto Washington Street.
Santa will be on hand to see the children. While waiting to see Santa, children will have a chance to decorate a Christmas cookie.
The parade is open to all organizations and communities throughout Fulton County. To participate in the parade, call Becky Humphrey at 547-2501 or 219-2495 for an entry form. All entries must be in by noon Friday, Nov. 30.
The tree decorating contest is open to any individuals or groups, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, church groups, pre-school groups, etc. There will be age categories to ensure fairness. To register for a tree an entry form must be filled out so the committee knows how many trees to order. To enter call Theresa Strode at 547-2501 by Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.
