Clay County Sheriff Andy Myers releases the following statement:
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation a search warrant was obtained by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and served with assistance from ILEAS Region 9/11WMD Special Response Team on Friday, September 13 at a residence in Xenia. As a result of the search warrant the following four individuals were arrested; Jason W. Bissey 40 of Xenia was arrested for
Aggravated Assault and Concealing or Aiding a Fugitive, Ashley N. Bissey 33 of Xenia was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and Concealing or Aiding a Fugitive, Lucas A. Cartright 32 of Flora was arrested on a Clay County Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Theft of Utility Service (bond $75,000, 10%) and two Effingham County Civil Contempt Warrants (total bond $650 no 10%), and Megan R. Harvel 25 of Flora was arrested on a Clay County Warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Battery (bond $3000, 10%). Harvel later posted bond and was released. The other three individual are currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail. The sheriff’s office was assisted by ClayCounty State’s Attorney Andrew Koester and the Xenia Police Department.The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
