The Flora Tourism Committee wants to thank you for making the Christmas Season come alive at the Charley Brown Park this coming holiday season. They welcome in the season with businesses, organizations, churches, and/or individuals, to celebrate “Christmas in the Park”, 2019. Dates for this year’s events are November 29th through December 31st. Flora Library Park will also be decorated this year.

In addition to the displays, the Flora Tourism Committee is planning on the Arrival of Santa at the Flora Library Park Gazebo on November 29th. Then he will travel to Santa’s House in Charley Brown Park. During the Christmas Season there will also be Little Toot Train Rides, Carriage Rides, Breakfast with Santa, an Ice Skating Rink (downtown Flora), A Christmas Carol Play (at Flora High School Auditorium), Pet Pictures with Santa, Santa’s Mailbox, and Open Houses at the specialty shops throughout the community. (Events subject to change based on weather).

When planning your display this year, please keep in mind that they do not allow inflatable’s to be used in the displays, and that your display needs to be large enough to be visible to vehicles driving through the park. A couple of good resources for displays are Farris Family Farms located in West Liberty, IL 618-919- 1158. They also have a Facebook page. This year they are also utilizing the high school shop class and art class to make some different display items for those that are just wishing to donate towards a display. The Tourism Committee will be providing a sign for every display indicating the name of the business or organization that has sponsored the display, and this will keep all the signs uniform. Set up can begin as early as the week of November 18th.
