Girls' basketball tourney

    After nearly a week off from tourney play, Pontiac came back to the Ottawa event Friday and routed Morris 55-27. The Indians will play two games today.
    PTHS put up 21 points in the first quarter alone in taking command. Madi Mennenga hit two 3-pointers while Josie Noonan and Lindsey Hunt each scored twice as the Indians took a 21-5 lead.
    Addison Masching and Cam Feddern had a pair of baskets in the second period as the Tribe outscored the Redskins 13-6 for a 34-11 halftime advantage.
    Sam Thoman had the hot hand coming out of the intermission with eight points in the third quarter as Pontiac lead grew to 52-17. Feddern scored all three of Pontiac’s fourth-quarter points.
    Masching finished with 10 points to lead the balanced Indians. Feddern and Thoman each had 9 points while Mennenga and Hunt each finished with 8. Noonan and Cassidy Ringle contributed 4 points apiece while Alyssa Fox added 2 and Amanda Fox chipped in 1 point.
